I was going through my phone pics, found these. They are from a few weeks ago, when the snow storms hit Michigan. I’m glad it’s all melting away.

Kinja'd!!!

I now realize this was a poor decision, but I really wanted that snow off the car.

I would take that over the 80-degree temps, weed-filled yard and mosquitoes I'm already seeing down South. This is way too early. Winter was like a month long this year...

Here here.

It was nice to have a mild winter, I think we earned that after the last two or three of them.

It’s just nice to be able to go out without a coat again. Everybody loves fall, but I love spring because things are coming back to life instead of dying, and temperatures that feel cold in the fall because you’re used to summer, feel warm in the spring.

It wasn’t until after I did it I realized it was a horrible idea. I was having trouble getting off all the excess snow, while being late for work and having my bad shoulder act up. I just got so frustrated I said ‘screw it’ and toon the shovel to it. Thankfully no damage was done.

I can’t imagine having to deal with this much snow. I can only count on one hand how many times it has snowed here though.

2/24-2/26 Biggest snow storm of the year, ran the snowblower 3 times in 24 hours. Worked from home because of how bad the snow was falling on the 25th.

2/28 - It was mid 50's and sunny, first motorcycle ride of the year

3/3 - Another snow storm hit

3/8 - 70 degrees, sunny, rode my motorcycle to the voting booths.

This has been the craziest 2 weeks I think I’ve ever seen for weather in Michigan

It's interesting, especially so because I hate to shovel my driveway, I just drive over it. :).

Amen to that. Then again, I consider it the norm now. Any weather that doesnt seem like a teenager having mood swings is what I find weird. Personal policy, if you can live in the weirdness of MI, you can probably live anywhere.

Reminds me of an old Robin Williams joke saying

“this years spring flowers are like Anne Heche going I’m out! I’m in! I’m out! I’m in!”

that’s why i use a brush/squeegee something like this

Kinja'd!!!

always brush side down on the paint. the extra height of it is great to actually move snow off the car.

and the squeegee part is great to clear frozen windows.

i buy a new one each year.

(i’m in north western quebec so it gets used alot)

I have one like that, just without the squeegee part. No idea how old it is, but still useful.

Seriously though. Michigan is normally pretty weird but even more so this winter. I dont know whether to blame el nino or global warming.

for me the squeegee part gets all broken up, since I use it to scrape ice of the windows.

the brush part stays ok.

Will you be one of the many northern folks who retreat south from this weather when it comes time to retire?

My family seems to have a curse where we migrate and live in Florida for some amount of time. Both sets of grandparents have done it, my parents have done it, and every aunt and uncle have done it (6 in total). I have already got my time in, 5 years in total. I moved back to MI 2 years ago. I am adamantly against living there again, but if I do somehow go back, I'd do my hardest to normalize everyone around me. Just like last time, :).
